BASF Health and Nutrition A/S: Formed in January by merger of BASF Vitaminfabrik in Denmark and Danish subsidiary DanoChemo Holding. Headquartered outside of Copenhagen in Ballerup, BASF Health and Nutrition assumes worldwide responsibility for marketing vitamins, carotenoids and other substances. The Ballerup plant will concentrate on formulating fat-soluble vitamins using microencapsulation techniques, while its Grenaa site will produce mainly vitamin C. The "most important" vitamins and beta carotene are made in Ludwigshafen, the firm notes. BASF Health and Nutrition plans to open additional plants in the U.S., Brazil and Asia...
