This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

FDA REFORM SHOULD FOCUS ON CONSENSUS ISSUES FIRST, REP. FOX urged in a Dec. 22 letter to the House Republican leadership. Congress "should move immediately to develop a bipartisan consensus on those [FDA reform] changes that we can make to ease current regulatory requirements," according to the letter drafted by Rep. Jon Fox (R-Penn.) and signed by nearly all members of the Pennsylvania House delegation. The letter was sent to Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), Commerce Committee Chairman Thomas Bliley (R-Va.) and Commerce/Health & Environment Subcommittee Chairman Michael Bilirakis (R-Fla.).
