FNB FORMING NUTRIENT REVIEW PANELS TO BEGIN RDA REVISION, Food and Nutrition Board Executive Director Allison Yates, PhD, noted at an Oct. 30-31 conference in Chicago sponsored by the Council for Responsible Nutrition and the University of Illinois' Functional Foods for Health program. Yates reported that FNB asked for the consent of the governing board of the National Academy of Science in September to assemble an oversight committee and a number of panels to re-evaluate the Recommended Dietary Allowances. The current RDAs have been in place since 1989.
