FDA appropriations: Conference report to the fiscal 1996 Agriculture Appropriations bill is awaiting President Clinton's signature. The House and Senate adopted HR 1976 on Oct. 12. Few changes were made to provisions affecting FDA. The bill would set a level budget for the agency compared to FY 1995, with salaries and expenses funded at $917.7 mil. The only change to FDA provisions made during the conference committee meeting Sept. 28 was a compromise on funding for buildings and facilities.
