OTC NICOTINE GUM WOULD BE COVERED BY ONLY 12.4% OF MANAGED CARE PLANS if the product were available over-the-counter, according to a report by Corporate Health Policies Group, a Bethesda, Md.-based health care consulting firm. Of 105 managed care organizations surveyed by CHPG, only 13 said they would cover nicotine gum if it were to become available as an OTC product.
