ALLERGAN ACQUIRING HERALD PHARMACAL SKIN CARE BUSINESS for an undisclosed price. Allergan announced Aug. 1 that the companies have signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition. Herald Pharmacal markets a wide range of nonprescription glycolic acid-based skin care products. The M.D. Formulations brand is sold through dermatologists, plastic surgeons and aestheticians and the Aqua Glycolic line is marketed through pharmacies. Herald had sales of $15-$20 mil. in fiscal 1995 ended July 31, according to Allergan.
