This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

FDA's THOMPSON LEFT LOBBYING FIRM OVER A YEAR BEFORE WYETH-AYERST engaged the firm, Foreman & Heidepriem, to lobby for acceptance of Wyeth's petition on essential components for generic conjugated estrogens, Foreman & Heidepriem stated in a July 21 letter to FDA Chief Counsel Margaret Porter. Thus, the Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm said, "the facts show that there has been no conflict of interest, real or apparent" in any FDA decisions in which FDA Associate Commissioner for Legislative Affairs Diane Thompson was involved concerning Wyeth's Premarin petition.
