MARCH OF DIMES "THINK AHEAD" FOLIC ACID MEDIA CAMPAIGN LAUNCHING this month, March of Dimes Senior Associate-Federal Affairs Vivian Gabor announced at a June 19-22 conference on spina bifida and anencephaly in Alexandria, Va. sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The nationwide public health awareness project promotes the use of folic acid, which has been shown to reduce the number of cases of spina bifida and other neural tube defects by all women of childbearing age. The program -- which encourages women to "Think ahead!" by asking "Is there a baby in your future?" -- is partly underwritten by CIGNA Healthcare.
