DIETARY SUPPLEMENT INDUSTRY-DEVELOPED GMP PROPOSAL could be produced "within a few months, at the latest," and subsequently submitted to FDA, according to a Feb. 14 letter sent to FDA Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition Director Fred Shank, PhD. Signed by the Council for Responsible Nutrition, the National Nutritional Foods Association, the American Herbal Products Association and the Utah Natural Products Alliance, the letter says that industry working groups developing good manufacturing practices requirements for supplements "could produce a comprehensive draft" within a few months.
