Permanent director for OAM is expected to be selected by National Institutes of Health Director Harold Varmus the first week of January, NIH Deputy Director Ruth Kirschstein told the OAM program advisory council Dec. 7. She noted that about 18 to 20 applicants will be interviewed in the next couple of weeks. Almost all of them participated in the OAM ad hoc advisory meeting in Chantilly, Va. two years ago that developed the so-called "Chantilly" report, which provides a framework for development of an OAM strategic plan. The report is expected to be released to the public in the near future
