BIONUTRITION R&D SHOULD BE AMONG NIH's "HIGHEST PRIORITIES," FORMER DIRECTOR Bernadine Healy, MD, told a Foundation for Innovation in Medicine meeting on nutraceutical marketing, research and development in New York City on Nov. 15. Bionutrition must be recognized "as an academic science," Healy said, and "we have to make sure" that the National Institutes of Health "address[es] it as one of its highest priorities." Healy left her position as NIH director in June 1993 and returned to the Cleveland Clinic.
