Executive Summary
Selected by Ames Department Stores to be its health and beauty supplier effective Jan. 1, 1995, the McKesson subsidiary announced Nov. 8. Millbrook estimates the value of the Ames agreement at "about $40 mil. a year" in sales. In January, McKesson combined McKesson Service Merchandising with Millbrook Distributors to form MDS, generating sales of $700 mil. annually and creating the nation's largest distributor of H&BAs, general merchandise, specialty foods and non-food items ("The Tan Sheet" Jan. 17, p. 16).
