CALCIUM/VITAMIN O TRIAL TO BEGIN ENROLLING 45,000 WOMEN IN DECEMBER under the auspices of the Women's Health Initiative's (WHI) Calcium/Vitamin study, Joan McGowan, PhD, WHI project officer, reported at a Nov. 1 WHI Program Advisory Committee (WHIPAC) meeting in Bethesda, Md. "Beginning in December, women at their first one-year visit will be asked if they wish to be randomized to the calcium/vitamin D intervention," she said. "This will include only women who are in one of the other interventions; that is in the Dietary Modification or the [Hormone Replacement Therapy trial]" of the WHI.
