D&K ACQUISITION OF NORTHERN DRUG WILL CREATE 17-STATE NETWORK of drug wholesaling operations, D&K announced Aug. 29. The firm has signed a letter of intent to acquire Duluth-based Northern Drug Company for a combination of D&K common stock, cash, and notes. Northern will expand D&K's service area of 14 states in the Midwest and Mid-South into Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. D&K expects to close the deal in October, "subject to the negotiation and execution of a definitive agreement, as well as customary conditions and regulatory approvals."
