Executive Summary

Wyeth-Ayerst and Whitehall-Robins divisions to consolidate their purchasing, manufacturing, quality management and distribution operations under the direction of Wyeth-Ayerst following a determination that the firm's production needs could be met with fewer manufacturing plants. Over the next 18 to 20 months, manufacturing operations will be phased out at Whitehall- Robins' Hammonton, N.J. plant, which makes Advil, Anacin, Dristan and Preparation H. Preparation H production will move to Richmond, Va., the company said, and the other three OTCs will be made at a Rouse's Point, N.Y. plant. A distribution center in May's Landing, N.J. also will be closed. About 900 jobs in southern New Jersey will be affected by the consolidation, AHP said
