Executive Summary
U.S. Pharmacopeia adds folic acid dissolution test to its general chapter on the disintegration and dissolution of nutritional supplements. USP also proposed that manufacturers require the testing of both folic acid and one index vitamin -- riboflavin, pyridoxine, niacinamide, thiamine or ascorbic acid -- when it is present in combination formulations. USP said the proposal is motivated by the "prominence" of folic acid following FDA's authorization of a prenatal health claim
