In a "concept paper" called "How Should the Recommended Dietary Allowances be Revised" that was released May 6, the Institute of Medicine's Food & Nutrition Board suggested that the next edition of the Recommended Dietary Allowances should "review what is known about essential nutrients and important food components with respect to the four proposed reference points."
