Executive Summary
Will launch a line of nutritional supplements under the Avon Life brand name in June, Avon Chairman and CEO Jim Preston told securities analysts in New York City on March 31. Preston said Avon decided to enter the vitamin market because "research showed that 60% of our core consumers take some kind of nutritional supplement" and "we'd like to have some of those people buy [them] from us." Noting that Avon already sells vitamins in Japan, Malaysia and the Middle East, Preston projected that the Avon Life line "could become one of our core global product lines"
