Executive Summary
Central Pharmaceuticals asks FDA to extend the effective date of the banding requirement for hard-shell gelatin capsules. FDA stated in a Jan. 18 proposed rule that hard-shell gelatin caps would have to be banded one year after the date of the final rule ("The Tan Sheet" Jan. 24, p. 1). Central said banding equipment may not be available to all manufacturers and that acquisition of equipment would "delay the point at which stability studies could begin on product which has been banded"
