OTC PRODUCTS ACCOUNT FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE-THIRD OF ALL 1993 DRUG RECALLS reported by FDA, based on an analysis of drug recalls listed in the agency's weekly Enforcement Report. Of 248 drug products appearing on FDA's weekly list of product recalls during 1993, 81 (32%) were OTCs and 167 were prescription drugs.
