SmithKline Beecham will begin shipping new line off chewable calcium supplements to the trade on Nov. 1. Tums 500 (500 mg calcium) will be packaged in 60-tablet bottles of peppermint, wintergreen, assorted fruit and cherry flavors. SmithKline said it plans to put "full support" behind the product, with $ 12 mil. in dedicated ad spending earmarked for 1994. Television commercials and FSIs will premiere during the first quarter of 1994.
