Executive Summary
President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Kogan resigns from Rite Aid's board of directors effective Oct. 18, following the Oct. 14 filing of a private antitrust suit against Schering-Plough and six other drug manufacturers by a retail pharmacy group which includes Rite Aid ("The Tan Sheet" Oct. 18, p. 1). Schering-Plough explained that "in view of the nature of the lawsuit filed by Rite Aid against Schering-Plough, Mr. Kogan felt it would be inappropriate to continue serving on the Rite Aid board".
