Executive Summary
Sen. Edward Kennedy's (D-Mass.) Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee has scheduled a long- awaited hearing on dietary supplement regulation for Oct. 21. (NEW LINE) HHS appropriations: FY 1994 spending measure (HR 2518) for the HHS, Labor and Education Departments passes the full Senate on Sept. 29 by a 82-17 vote, setting up a House/Senate conference on Oct. 5. HR 2518 would double funding for NIH's Office of Alternative Medicine, among other provisions ("The Tan Sheet" Sept. 27, p. 10).
