FDA is planning a conference tentatively scheduled for early November to discuss antioxidants and their relationship to chronic disease risk. The conference is intended to assist FDA in deciding whether health claims for antioxidant nutrients (vitamins C, E and beta carotene) are appropriate ("The Tan Sheet" June 21, p. 5).
