Executive Summary
Vice Chairman Mark Novitch, MD, will retire Dec. 20, the company announced Aug. 3. Novitch, 61, joined Upjohn as a VP in 1985 from FDA, where he had been deputy commissioner and acting commissioner in 1983-84. He has served on the Upjohn board since 1986. Prior to arriving at FDA in 1971, Novitch worked at HEW's Office of Health and Scientific Affairs from 1967.
