Executive Summary

Generic firm's NMC Laboratories subsidiary gains FDA approval for an ANDA covering clotrimazole 1% cream for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections. In a July 23 announcement, A.L. Labs noted that NMC's clotrimazole is the "only generic equivalent to" Schering-Plough's Gyne-Lotrimin. NMC expects to begin marketing the clotrimazole product in the fourth quarter.
