Consumer education program will be launched during National Poison Prevention Week (March 21-27) by the Council on Family Health in cooperation with FDA and the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association. The effort, which will feature a March 22 video news release, print and television public service announcements and point-of-purchase pamphlets distributed in H&BA aisles in food and drug stores, is designed to inform consumers how to inspect drug packaging and the medication itself for signs of tampering.
