Senate HELP Committee Members Post-Election

Lamar Alexander is expected to be chairman following the Republican takeover of the Senate; former Chairman Tom Harkin is retiring.

Below are the current members of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, listed by seniority, with their status following the Nov. 4 election. HELP has jurisdiction over Medicaid, biomedical R&D and public health. The membership of the committees for the 114th Congress, which starts in January, will be determined later by party leaders.
