Senate panel approves $2.6 billion for FDA in FY 2009
The Agriculture/FDA funding bill reported by the Senate Appropriations Committee July 17 provides the agency with $2.04 billion in appropriations and $594.5 million in user fees paid by industry ($497 million for human drug reviews). The committee report recommends that FDA increase spending by $104 million for drug, device and biologics safety and by $40 million for its science programs
