The agency issued a request for proposals for pooling similar terms in the MedDRA (Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities) adverse event coding system. Dubbed the MedPool Project, it is intended to improve how adverse events are combined and help FDA manage large adverse event datasets submitted by pharmaceutical companies.
