Insurance coverage and clinical research
CMS will convene a town hall meeting Sept. 20 to gather input for a white paper about "The Effect of Coverage and Payment on Clinical Research Study Participation and Retention," the agency announced in the Aug. 24 Federal Register. Topics to be discussed include the effect of payment policies by CMS and other third-party payers on clinical trial enrollment, randomization and blinding, and the impact payment timing and structure has on development of better evidence.
