Kaletra overdose warning
Abbott is issuing a warning regarding accidental overdose of Kaletra oral solutionfollowing a fatal overdose in an infant who received approximately 10 times the appropriate dose of the lopinavir/ritonavir combination. The company sent a "Dear Health Care Professional" letter Aug. 6 with dosing guidelines and a reminder that "special attention must be paid to accurate calculation of the dose, transcription of the medication order, dispensing information and dosing instructions to minimize the risk for medication errors"...
