Rx abuse reaches new high
Executive Summary
Abuse of prescription pain killers now ranks as the second most prevalent illegal drug problem in the country, and new abusers of prescription drugs "have caught up with" the number of new marijuana users. Driving the abuse is the "relative ease of access to prescription drugs," the Office of National Drug Control Policy says Feb. 20. The office advises people to mix unused, unneeded or expired drugs with something "undesirable," such as coffee grounds or kitty litter, and discretely disposed of in a non-descript container...
