Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America President Alan Holmer will participate in a Nov. 19 press conference kicking off Miss America Katie Harman's "Breast Cancer in America: Caring Community-by-Community" 2002 platform. PhRMA will release its annual survey of research on medicines for women as part of the press event. The kick-off was originally planned as a Capitol Hill event to include the Oregon Congressional delegation: Harman was Miss Oregon and Holmer was on the staff of former Oregon Sen. Robert Packwood (R). The Capitol Hill event had to be postponed because of the anthrax scare....Rep. Waxman staff change: Tim Westmoreland, legislative assistant and counsel to Rep.
