Executive Summary
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is set to meet Oct. 21-22 to discuss inclusion of RotaShield in the Vaccines for Children Program. Although ACIP had previously recommended including the vaccine for routine use in newborns, it may reconsider the recommendation because of the high cost of the product - $38 per dose for the three-dose series (see related story, p. 13)
