Research tax credit
Tax bill extending the research tax credit 20 months for the period between July 1, 1998 and Feb. 29, 2000 introduced in the House Sept. 16 by Ways and Means Chairman Archer (R-Tex.). The bill (HR 4579) also increases the credit rate for the alternative incremental research credit. President Clinton has threatened to veto the measure should it pass citing inadequate offsets
