MICHIGAN MEDICAID ULCER DRUG MONITORING SERVICE SAVES ABOUT $3.5 MIL. per year based on a reduction in average prescription size of eight tablets or capsules per prescription, Michigan Medicaid Pharmacy Program Specialist Sandy Kramer told a University of South Carolina public policy conference in Hilton Head, S.C. Feb. 9. Since July 1993, Michigan Medicaid has required prior authorization for more than three months of therapy with Lilly's Axid, HMR's Carafate, SmithKline's Tagamet, Merck's Pepcid, TAP's Prevacid, Astra Merck's Prilosec and Glaxo's Zantac.
