FDA Appropriations: FDA must submit a detailed operating plan for fiscal 1998 to the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations within 30 days of enactment of HR 2160 in lieu of a detailed plan by conferees, according to a conference report on the bill filed Sept. 17. The measure provides $857.5 mil. for salaries and expenses before user fees. Included in the amount is $34 mil. for tobacco prevention and "an increase" for the Office of Generic drugs...
