ORTHO-McNEIL LEVAQUIN CAPTURES 7.5% OF QUINOLONE SCRIPTS in the month of June with 100,000 prescriptions, according to Scott-Levin data. The antibiotic accounted for 19% of all sales calls by Johnson & Johnson companies and nearly half of all sales calls for the quinolone market in the second quarter of the year. Levaquin (levofloxacin), which is the pure S-enantiomer of Ortho's Floxin (ofloxacin), was approved Dec. 20 ("The Pink Sheet" Jan. 6, p. 14).
