SCHERING CLARITIN, SB RELAFEN PATENT EXTENSIONS COULD BE PURSUED BY SEN. THOMPSON during floor debate on Sen. Hatch's (R-Utah) patent office reform bill (S 507), Thompson (R-Tenn.) indicated during a Judiciary Committee mark-up of the bill May 22. "I strongly believe that action needs to be taken in the near future on the subject of pipeline drugs and that action is necessary with or without comprehensive review of Hatch/Waxman," Thompson said. Hatch's omnibus patent bill was reported out of the committee by voice vote at the mark-up .
