Merck signs shortstop to pitch Prinivil: Cal Ripken, Jr. ads debut in medical journals.
MERCK PRINIVIL PROFESSIONAL ADS FEATURING CAL RIPKEN, JR. are running in The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of the American Medical Association, Clinical Cardiology and Medical Economics. The ad, designed by Philadelphia-based Hal Lewis, features Major League Baseball player Cal Ripken, Jr. and Merck's antihypertensive Prinivil (lisinopril). The ad debuted in late January and is scheduled to run throughout the year, Merck said.
