AMGEN LICENSES PROGENITOR LEPTIN RECEPTOR TECHNOLOGY for human therapeutic, diagnostic and prophylactic uses, the companies announced Jan. 6. Interneuron subsidiary Progenitor's leptin receptor technology would complement Amgen's research on the hormone leptin as a treatment for obesity. Amgen initiated a clinical trial of leptin in May 1996.
