CARDINAL HOSPITAL PHARMACY MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO WOULD INCREASE FIVE-FOLD WITH OWEN ACQUISITION: DEAL ADDS 330 HOSPITALS, 90 AUTOMATED DISPENSING SITES
Cardinal Health is seeking to quintuple its presence in hospital pharmacy management through the acquisition of Owen Healthcare, the wholesaler announced Nov. 27. Owen manages the in-house pharmacies for about 330 hospitals in 43 states. Cardinal's Allied Pharmacy Service subsidiary has contracts to manage about 60 hospital pharmacies.
