Purdue Frederick maintains that Kadian (morphine sulfate sustained-release capsules) infringes its Dec. 26, 1995 patent, "Method of Treating Pain by Administering 24-Hour Oral Opioid Formulations Exhibiting Rapid Rate of Initial Rise of Plasma Drug Level" (#5,478,577).
