CARDINAL OWNERSHIP OF CHAIN INVENTORY UNDER NEGOTIATION, Cardinal Health CEO Robert Walter told analysts at the Alex. Brown conference in Baltimore. Cardinal is meeting with its customers and "talking about consigning inventory, which means we will literally own" their inventory, Walter said. "The customer won't pay for that inventory until it's actually dispensed." Discussions are ongoing with "one of our major retail chains," he added.
