GPIA president is Robert Waspe, former NACDS general counsel.
Executive Summary
GPIA PRESIDENT IS EX-NACDS GENERAL COUNSEL WASPE, after a nine-month search by the generics group to fill the top post following the death of Lewis Engman in July. The search was lengthened by the decision during the process to merge two of the leading groups representing the generic companies: the Generic Pharmaceutical Industry Association and the National Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. Robert Waspe will assume the top post of the merged associations when they complete their merger under the new name of the Generic Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association. GPIA and NAPM are ironing out final details of the merger ("The Pink Sheet" March 25, p. 7).
