Golden State Medical Supply unit-of-use alliance with CibaGeneva involves 50 products.
Executive Summary
GOLDEN STATE MEDICAL SUPPLY EXCLUSIVE UNIT-OF-USE AGREEMENT WITH CIBAGENEVA involves 50 products in the first phase of the alliance, inaugurated in February. CibaGeneva generics are being packaged into 30s, 60s and 90s unit-of-use containers for the retail, institutional and HMO pharmacy markets. The Valencia, Calif. unit-of-use repackager and wholesaler is positioning the CibaGeneva products as a way to provide retailers more time for counseling and ancillary pharmacy services. "The label and precounted product will save the pharmacists time in dispensing prescriptions," GSMS said. "In addition, the pharmacists will also be able to focus on other ancillary services such as glucose testing or special compounding."
