Medco diabetes management program finds 3,000 at-risk patients via self-assessment questionnaire.
Executive Summary
MEDCO DIABETES MANAGEMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM FINDS 3,000 AT-RISK PATIENTS via a self-assessment questionnaire sent to more than 105,000 diabetics at the end of 1994, Medco Associate Director for Health Strategies & Programs Martha Sutphin told a Zitter Group conference in San Francisco July 20-21. Sutphin said that of the 11,000 patients who responded to the questionnaire, about 3,000 indicated they were at risk when they answered "yes" to the first nine of 36 questions. The company followed up on at-risk patients by contacting physicians to see if their patients came for appointments and if the physician used the questionnaire.
