Executive Summary
SMITHKLINE BEECHAM AND COASTAL HEALTHCARE STRATEGIC ALLIANCE, announced March 28, "anticipates that SB services will be integrated into the Coastal network of physicians" in an attempt to create "new and more efficient ways" of health care delivery, the companies declared. SB's pharmacy benefits management subsidiary, Diversified Pharmaceutical Services, and its clinical laboratories business will collaborate with the Durham, N.C.-based physician management company. The alliance will take effect no later than May, SB reported.
