Executive Summary
DPS, SCHERING-PLOUGH, MID-ATLANTIC MEDICAL THREE-WAY ASTHMA MANAGEMENT agreement will be directed toward "improving outcomes and reducing cost" for 11,000 asthma patients enrolled in the Rockville, Md.-based HMO, Mid-Atlantic Medical Services. Mid-Atlantic has negotiated a contract with its pharmacy benefit manager, SmithKline Beecham's DPS, and with Schering-Plough's disease management subsidiary, Integrated Therapeutics Group, to implement the "AsthmaCare program" of guidelines and interventions for asthma sufferers.
